ISSX New Investigator Group Fireside Chat: A Conversation with Natalie Hosea, Ph.D.
Natalie received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Pharmacology at the University of California, San Diego, and completed a research fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and started her industry career in Pfizer in 1999 and in 2015 took a new position at Takeda. Her passion in research and the discovery of new life changing therapies for patients motivates her to create & maintain scientifically talented, diverse, and high engaged teams in an effort to drive innovation and accelerate delivery of Takeda's goals for patients. Rounding out her expertise, Natalie is a staunch advocate for mentorship and people development. Natalie has participated in women's employee resource groups at both Pfizer and Takeda, serving as a mentor to colleagues within and outside of Takeda. She served as a member of the San Diego Regional Health Care Business Association Leadership Team, served as their program director in 2012-2013, where she was responsible for leading a team to develop and execute program content. In addition, Natalie served two consecutive terms on the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (ISSX) Council and served as chair for the Membership Affairs Committee. She remains actively involved with the society and in 2021 started serving a 2-year term as a member of the Continuing Education Committee. An unwavering supporter of STEM education and outreach efforts, Natalie serves on the advisory council for the College of Science and Math at California State University of San Marcos as an industry representative, and frequently hosts student groups at Takeda to connect students with industry scientists and experience.
